My Newest Subscription
by mathe | Thursday, July 2nd, 2009 at 6:38 pm | Homing Instincts |Ever since we arrived here in the UK, we started subscribing to different publications using our Tesco vouchers. So far, we are on our 2nd year in our Reader’s Digest subscription and almost completing a year’s worth of National Geographic Kids. Elijah will be hell-bent to carry on with this one so our next Tesco vouchers will surely go to renewing the NG Kids come August. I posted about this subscription with the magazine here with the end in view of educating our boys outside the classroom.
These were the first publications that we availed of because first, we think them essential to our reading lives. Secondly, they were the only ones we could get with our limited vouchers, and we chose them because of reason no. 1, which is that they are important to our reading lives.
Then, our spending went up in the past few months and so we are now getting more value for our money by getting more vouchers. We have been to Alton Towers earlier using those vouchers and before that, we also used some of the points to subscribe to a next important passion of mine – that of reading about home, home making, lifestyle, etc.
So that is another reading material I will be looking forward to every month. My first copy of Idealhome magazine arrived this week. As expected, I read and re-read it all the time til my next copy arrives or my eyes pop out of their sockets, whichever comes first.
I promise to be sharing with you anything interesting that I read from the magazine. I really love the wonderful pictures of homes (they have a “home by the beach” theme this month) with stories about how the owners built/renovated/decorated their abodes.

I can only imagine my own home as I ogle at the pictures of decadent bathrooms.

I picture myself relaxing with a good book in my very own outside space.

And also, there is this feature about similar items coming from both ends of the price range, the ideal buy and the great deal – a smart thing to include in these credit crunch days.

Again, expect me to be raving about anything interesting that I see in the magazine in the coming days.
See you next post, guys!
