From HotMomma’s Kitchen: A Series
by mathe | Monday, July 13th, 2009 at 4:56 pm | HotMomma’s Kitchen |I have been mentioning here that my hubby is trying his best to learn the art of putting together a meal to feed his family. Well, it was not that dramatically-stated, actually, but I meant the same thing. Yes, he bought a cookbook once and then I gave him a much simpler and cheaper one. Sadly, not a single dish came out of these two cookbooks. But he did cook! He took inspiration from the meals that he eats in hotels and pubs when he is away on official trips. Can you believe that? He has two cookbooks and he turns to commercially-prepared food for inspiration! If you want to read more about the tale of the two cookbooks, and his first attempt at cooking, try here. I failed to mention there where he took inspiration from, but he sure did try and I am mighty proud of him.
As a follow up on that one, I am sharing with you what he was able to cook next – months after the first try. This time, he got the recipe from a newspaper recipe column. Yes, the cookbooks are still gathering dust.

my hubby's second dish: gnocchi with pan-seared salmon
If you bothered to check out the first dish that he cooked through the link I provided above – or you have read about it in the past, please ignore the fact that it’s the same salmon he cooked. Not that it’s the only fish we have. We just love it, that’s why.
I hope that his enthusiasm to learn cooking will not wane so that my vision of a life with less kitchen work will become a reality.
Til next post, guys! Hope you all have a fruitful, safe and happy week ahead!
