How Can we Fail?
by mathe | Wednesday, July 1st, 2009 at 5:33 pm | Faithspeak |As a Christian, I can dare say that there is no excuse for me to fail in the long run. The Bible explicitly states that Jesus is able and willing to forgive every sin, every failure, every shoartcoming. Ergo, at every downfall, at every yielding to temptation, He is there – ever supportive, ever forgiving, ever able to restore. So, where else should I go? What else should I do? I can’t help but try again, and while there is no guarantee on my part to succeed tomorrow, He isassuredly there to keep His end of the deal.
These two verses are so rich and sure that they leave no doubt at all that every Christian has the backing of the entire force of heaven to ensure that he can safely reach home someday:
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9
“No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.”
