An Idea Made in Heaven

So, anyway, two days after Valentine’s Day (yes, HotMomma reacts really late to anything), it was our 13th Wedding Anniversary. Nothing much happened that day because hubby and I were working. It was just as well since I wanted to stay at home after work and curl into a ball on the sofa with a sizzling romance novel (I have forgotten the title because I have like 39 of them in a carrier bag waiting for me to have the time devour them all). Besides, we were scheduled to go to London on Wednesday that week for a belated celebration – with the kids, of course.

Then, he arrived and gave me this:

I meant the orchid, not the apple, though he bought that fruit from the supermarket with the heart mark two days earlier and he said it was for me, too. It was totally unexpected and I was just so touched because I have never been given an orchid before. It now sits comfortably on our window facing the rising sun.

And that guitar to the right? That’s an awesome piece of instrument he uses to accompany our praise and worship in church. He bought it only last month and it makes really nice music – as nice as its price, he he he!

So, yes we’ve been married for 13 years already and I just feel so blessed that until now, we still have the same love, respect and trust we used to have as starry-eyed younger people. Thirteen years and two children later, we can still happily look forward to more years together. Indeed, with the right person, marriage is an idea made in heaven. An idea that only God could have thought of.
