A Reminder, More Photos and the Excitement of Christmas
by mathe | Sunday, December 14th, 2008 at 10:12 am | Life as I See it |Yesterday, I shared a photo of the hubby and our little boy exhausted and asleep on the couch. Well, today, they were at it again.
These two seem to have a shared liking for sleeping. They weren’t exhausted today. It’s just that the weather is so right for sleeping. We Filipinos call it “bed weather” – when the sky is overcast and it is so cold you just want to crawl under your duvet.
It’s Christmas time so the weather is understandable. During this time of the year, we seem to develop more tolerance for everything (like the bad/bed weather) and everyone. Oh!, we even seem to like to eat anything we see on the table – even those we won’t normally eat at other times of the year. I mean, we just get healthier appetites during Christmas, don’t we?
That’s why HotMomma wants to remind everyone to be just a bit careful about what you eat this season. Yes, I know, there’s an abundance of food and parties seem to be endlessly happening everywhere, but we can still maintain good health while being in a festive mood.
Look at healthy food like this one:
You won’t trade this for the tastiest steak or ham, will you?
I am just giving an example here. The key is to strike a balance between enjoying the food you will be blessed with this Christmas and knowing when to stop, if you know what I mean.
And speaking of food, a friend and her little, lovable daughter named Abby will be joining us for our “Noche Buena” – a Filipino tradition of sharing a special Christmas dinner by midnight on the 24th of December (Christmas Eve). That is after our Christmas Eve service in church. I am pretty excited because the number of people to please with my menu just increased and for me that’s a good thing.
Another thing to be excited about this season is my older boy’s birthday. Not that I am excited over the prospect of him getting a year closer to being a teen-ager (though I pray that he will just sail through that disturbing period we call the teen-age years), it’s just that his birthday has always been one of the high points of our Christmasses since he arrived in our life 12 years ago.
He is not for kiddie parties anymore. Instead, he wants to celebrate his special day in the cinema watching something earth-shakingly profound called Madagascar Escape 2 Africa (Still Together Still Lost), or something that sounds like that. How is that for a life-changing way to celebrate one’s birthday?
Last but not least, my little one and I will be making his Christmas cards for his classmates and teachers. I have decided to take his picture and use it on the cards. Here’s what we have to choose from:
Don’t I have a cute little angel?
Anyway, from my family to yours, advanced Merry Christmas, everyone!
Special note: Thank you, Jena Isle for your Christmas greetings. I wish you the same. Girl for all Status, thanks as well for your comments and a BIG THANKS for the award.

I wish kids will remain kids forever. You know, they’re always at your side. Ang sweet, Ikaw lang buhay nila. Once they enter puberty, may sarili ng mundo. Hay naku, they will eventually leave us. Ganun talaga. Kakalungkot lang.
You’re welcome and enjoy the holidays. Your man and kids surely are cute and sweet being together like that.
God bless.
